Wadiz is launching full-scale business to support overseas promising brands' entry into the Korean market.
Wadiz, a lifestyle design crowdfunding platform, announced that it successfully held a 'Special Briefing Session for Korean Market Entry of Japanese SMEs' at Makuake's headquarters in Tokyo Shibuya on the 16th.
This event was attended by the founders of leading crowdfunding services in each country, 'Wadiz' and 'Makuake,' who directly participated in a talk concert themed on Japanese companies' entry into the Korean market. Over 100 excellent Japanese companies with successful funding experience participated both online and offline, confirming great enthusiasm about entering the Korean market.
Wadiz has recently surpassed 1 trillion won in cumulative transaction volume, solidifying its position as a growth support platform for small and medium-sized enterprises and merchants. Through the pre-order service for global projects launched in 2022, there has been an increasing number of cases where overseas brands use Wadiz as their platform for entering the Korean market. This event was held as the first event to introduce Wadiz to the Japanese market as the 'gateway' for overseas companies' entry into the Korean market.
The event proceeded in order of △CEO Talk Concert by Shin Hye-sung, CEO of Wadiz, and Nakayana Ryotaro, CEO of Makuake, who are recognized as pioneers of the crowdfunding market in Korea and Japan respectively, △Wadiz Briefing Session, and △Q&A Session.
At the CEO Concert, they had in-depth discussions about Japanese makers' Korean market entry strategies, including Wadiz funding trends and success cases, similarities and differences between Wadiz and Makuake, and follow-up distribution methods after funding. In the subsequent briefing session, they introduced a 'Global Partner' that overseas makers can conveniently use when entering the Korean market through Wadiz. Wadiz has designated partner companies that can oversee the overall planning and operation of Wadiz Global Projects, including Korean detailed page production, marketing, import/customs clearance, logistics, and customer service, as 'Global Partners,' and has started a service to connect overseas makers in need of local partners with them.
In the final Q&A session, questions and answers received in advance and on-site were shared, confirming once again the high level of interest in entering the Korean market.
The briefing session was attended by numerous promising lifestyle brands from Japan, a manufacturing powerhouse with a long history and tradition, including a shoe manufacturing company with 70 years of history and denim companies.
Seichiro Ueda, Vice President of Japanese company 'Brightway' who attended the event, said, "I've been interested in and frequently visited the Korean market and Wadiz, so I'm very happy to hear that Wadiz is taking direct action for Japanese makers' market entry," and added, "I gained useful information through this briefing session, and we are planning to showcase our Makuake funding-successful products on Wadiz in early next year," expressing expectations for the Korean market.
Shin Hye-sung, CEO of Wadiz, stated, "Wadiz met a good partner in Makuake and began actively supporting cross-market entry for both Korea and Japan," and added, "Going forward, through partnerships with various global companies, we will become the first gateway that overseas companies must pass through when entering the Korean market."
Meanwhile, Wadiz is continuously recruiting 'Global Partners' to collaborate with overseas makers and conduct global projects, and is accepting applications via email. (Inquiries: global-biz@wadiz.kr)
