Wadiz, Korea's largest crowdfunding platform established in 2012, is evolving into an AI-based global platform that supports SMEs and small business owners in expanding their overseas sales channels.
Wadiz announced on the 7th that it launched the 'Wadiz Global' app service, which showcases Korean crowdfunding projects to customers in 200 countries worldwide.
The Wadiz Global service features AI technology to resolve translation difficulties that SMEs and small business owners face during overseas expansion, and also provides support for overseas logistics and advertising.
Makers can easily proceed with global projects by setting overseas shipping countries to up to 200 countries in the same way they previously conducted funding projects on Wadiz.
Wadiz provides comprehensive infrastructure for domestic makers to secure their first customers overseas through crowdfunding and establish themselves in the global market, including △AI-based translation △matching with overseas shipping partner companies △global targeted advertising, etc.
With the official launch of this app service, an increase in global customer inflow is expected. Currently, the global service is provided in English, and it plans to expand supported languages to Japanese and Chinese by August. Through this, domestic SMEs will be able to secure export opportunities in more diverse markets.
After launching Wadiz Global web and mobile web services in May, Wadiz showcased approximately 180 new projects to global customers and confirmed initial market response. Since the launch, over 6,000 members from 89 countries have registered, and new payments have occurred from more than 20 countries.
By category, beauty accounts for the highest proportion at 25%, proving the 'K-beauty' craze, followed by fashion (21%), tech & electronics (11%), and sports & outdoor (9%).
As a representative success case, Helinox, a leading domestic outdoor brand, first showcased camping cookware developed with inspiration from the Joseon Dynasty's 'Nanro-hoe' culture on Wadiz, achieving global funding of 35 million won out of a total accumulated funding amount of 440 million won. In particular, new payments have occurred in Asian regions such as Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore, confirming the potential of new overseas sales channels.
Wadiz is also running a large-scale promotion that includes support for overseas shipping costs to help small business owners expand globally. Until August 31st, those who open global funding or pre-order projects and achieve payments from 3 or more overseas countries or 100 or more transactions will receive full support of up to 10 million won in shipping costs per brand.
Shin Hye-sung, CEO of Wadiz, stated, "The change has already begun where domestic small business owners and SMEs connect directly with global customers through Wadiz and create real opportunities for overseas expansion," adding, "We will continue to strengthen AI technology, logistics infrastructure, and comprehensive marketing support so that Korean brands can grow on the world stage."
Meanwhile, the Wadiz Global app can be downloaded from Android and iOS app stores, and is currently available in approximately 170 countries based on the countries supported by the app store.
