Works featuring diverse artistic inspiration are gaining attention through crowdfunding.
Wadiz, a lifestyle design crowdfunding platform, announced that active funding in the arts field is drawing attention, led by an exclusive collaboration between 'contemporary art master' Park Seo-bo and Italian luxury living brand ALESSI.
Park Seo-bo is a master of monochromatic painting, a mainstream form of contemporary Korean abstract painting, and is a globally renowned artist known for his 'myobeop' series of works created by repeatedly drawing lines on the canvas. In this funding, a total of four printworks worth 24 million won (yellow, grey, pink, pencil) presented in limited quantities were sold out immediately upon opening.
The purpose of this funding is to provide an opportunity for the public to own content from acclaimed artists that were previously difficult to access, and to help discover more valuable hobbies through Wadiz. For artists, the goal is to transcend the limitations of the traditional art market and approach the public through a storytelling channel where they can communicate authentically via crowdfunding.
Most notably, the rewards for this funding are being introduced as pre-orders in the form of a wine opener reborn through collaboration with Italian luxury living brand 'ALESSI', in addition to printwork pieces. As a special edition with only 1,500 pieces existing worldwide, Wadiz exclusively offers a special set with wine chilling bags and wine glass coasters, limited to 200 sets per color.
Maker 'Art and Edition,' which opened this funding, stated "This funding will be an opportunity to own works by an artist with a unique standing valued at hundreds of millions of won in a more accessible and practical way" and added "It will be a special gift that will satisfy everyone from fans of Park Seo-bo to wine enthusiasts."
Recently, Wadiz, in addition to Park Seo-bo's funding, has been supporting active funding from artists including Jung Eun-hye's printwork edition, who gained popularity from the drama

A Wadiz official stated, "We will continue to provide both online and offline spaces where diverse artists and creators can communicate through the crowdfunding platform in unique forms such as collaborations, exhibitions, and merchandise, and create opportunities for supporters to experience and own creative works and stories."
