Wadiz (CEO Shin Hye-sung, www.wadiz.kr ) held a joint briefing session with Japan's leading crowdfunding platform Makuake for promising Chinese makers and started implementing strategies to enter the Asian market.
On June 26, Wadiz held a crowdfunding briefing jointly with Makuake in Beijing Grand Hyatt Beijing, China. The event was organized for local brands in China who want to enter the Asian market.
Earlier in May, Wadiz discussed ways to expand ecosystem cooperation with major Asian crowdfunding platforms such as Makuake and Taiwan Zeczec at the BEYOND EXPO 2026, and continued cooperation with Makuake through this briefing session.
More than 50 local Chinese companies in various fields such as AI devices and robotics attended the site. In particular, many tech-based innovative brands such as AI glasses and robot vacuum cleaners participated, showing high interest in entering the Asian market.
Wadiz and Makuake introduced the operating structure and market characteristics of each platform and shared Asian GTM (Go-To-Market) strategies such as securing initial customers using crowdfunding and verifying market response.
Since opening its global service in May last year, Wadiz has been expanding its contact point between overseas makers and global consumers. Currently, visits have been made in 215 countries, and the number of overseas monthly active users has doubled compared to the same month last year. In particular, as of June, overseas visitors are concentrated in the order of the U.S., China, and Japan, and they are expanding their global user base mainly in Asia and North America.
"Wadiz serves as a launchpad for global makers to open direct funding in the Asian market and check initial customer reactions," a Wadiz official said. "We will expand the crowdfunding ecosystem so that promising overseas makers can verify the potential of the Asian market and grow, starting with Korea."
Meanwhile, Wadiz is preparing to establish a global cooperation system with crowdfunding platforms in major markets such as Korea, the United States, and Japan. The plan is to expand cooperation between platforms that started in Asia to the global market.
