Rewards Design Guide
You'll find out when you read this
- Rewards are a token to supporters that they have been 'together with this project'.
- Not a postcard, not a single line of name, not even a single online call can be a reward. There is no correct answer to the form.
- From determining rewards to setting the price, you can design it right away with this guide.
01. What is Rewards?
Rewards are products or services that are provided to supporters who participate in the project as a way of thanking them. A small handwritten letter, registration of the sponsor's name, and a newsletter containing the results of the project can all be rewards. You don't have to think hard about it, you can choose something that can give you a meaningful experience in my project.
Why do you need it?
Rewards make project participation a special experience. Through the rewards, supporters can feel the meaning of completing the project together beyond just cheering.
Things to consider when it comes to fun and meaning-seeking projects
1. Can I change the reward after the project is opened?
After opening, the amount, quantity, composition, and delivery conditions cannot be changed. Only the reward name, description, and image can be modified, so it is important to design it carefully before opening.
2. Do I have to give you a reward when the profit is not the goal?
Yes, I really need a reward. This is because supporters believe in the promise of receiving rewards and participate in funding. However, rewards don't necessarily have to be practical or grandiose. If supporters can feel 'I've been on this project', even small rewards such as handwritten letters, name listing, and sharing results can be a meaningful enough reason to participate.
02. How to configure rewards
1) Picking a reward
If you are wondering what meaningful experiences you can give in my project, please refer to the table below. In fact, Wadiz offers various types of rewards from physical rewards to digital and experience rewards.
| type | Example Rewards | Project Example |
| physical reward | Postcards, T-shirts, stickers, photo cards, badges, goods | a set of 30 postcards made in children's won |
| Digital Rewards | Newsletter, sponsorship report, music, video, comment template | Gangwon Wildfire Relief Funding Usage Diary |
| Experience Rewards | Letter of thanks, registration of sponsor's name, right to participate in the event | Shin Hae-cheol Memorial Bench Construction Project Thank You Letter |
Rewards Type Selection Tip
- Do you want to allow supporters to think of this project often in their daily lives? → Postcards, T-shirts, calendars, etc
- Do you want to share the results of the project? → Funding reports, activity newsletters, thank you videos, etc
- Do you want supporters to be recorded as part of this project? → Listing sponsors, on-site credits, etc
- Do you want to create a moment where you're directly with your supporters? → Participation rights, online video calls, etc
2) Configuring Rewards
① Single & Set Configuration
Rewards can consist of a single or set. A single is a method of constructing only one reward, and a set is a method of combining rewards to make them richer. There are two main ways to organize the set.
- Configuring association sets that provide a richer experience
- By bundling similar rewards together, supporters can experience the project more deeply.
- ex. Thank you letter + result report, abandoned dog postcard + walking volunteer guidebook
- Configures a step-by-step set that lowers entry barriers
- From light cheering to supporters who want to actively cheer, you can choose according to your heart's size.
- ex. Registration of sponsor's name / registration of sponsor's name + registration of sponsor's name + registration of sponsor's report + right to participate in the event
② Reward name
The reward name is the most important information for supporters to remember the reward, and it is effective if you write it according to the formula below.
- Template: [Reward Purpose] + [Reward Form] + [Configuration/Quantity]
- Rewards Purpose: What does this reward mean (e.g., thanks, cheers, celebrations, celebrations, etc.)
- Rewards form: what supporters actually receive (e.g., postcards, newsletters, participation rights, etc.)

③ Rewards description (up to 400 characters)
Please include items such as reward configuration, quantity and options, how they are provided, and explanations so that supporters can understand exactly what they actually receive.

④ Rewards Image
The reward image is the first impression that makes a supporter feel like "I want to get this." Analysis of Wadiz project data in May 2026 showed that projects that registered Rewards representative images had a 1.7 times higher conversion rate of funding payments than those that did not.
| a project with a representative image | a project without a representative image | |
| Rewards Click Rate | 30.9% | 23.6% |
| Transition to Funding Payment | 8.2% | 4.6% |
Good Rewards Image Conditions
| Recommended Rewards Image | Unrecommended Rewards Image |

If it's an experiential and digital reward that doesn't have a real thing, visualizing the 'feel when you receive it' is the key.
- Activity Report → Mockup image showing the layout or configuration of the report
- List the sponsor's name → Photo showing the list or site where the name will be posted
- Online video call → Maker's real photo
03. How to set the reward amount
1) Determining Rewards Type and Configuration: Decide which Rewards to provide in how many configurations first.
2) Calculation of the amount by reward: The amount of each reward is determined by adding up the production cost and project execution cost.
3) Estimate the number of people to pay: Estimate how many people will buy each reward and add them all to see if it is possible to achieve the target amount.
04. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. The rewards are as simple as postcards or thank-you letters, will supporters participate?
A. In a project that seeks meaning and fun, supporters do not participate in the project to have a reward. You participate in the project with the desire to achieve it together. The key is how well the reward contains the authenticity of the project.
Q. How do I get a picture of a reward if it's not a physical reward?
A. If you don't have the actual product, you can replace it with a photo that shows how the supporter felt when he received it. If it's a sponsorship report, it's enough to post a photo of the sponsorship target, and if it's an event, it's enough to post a related photo.
Q. What do I do if I want to change the date of the event or change the reward configuration after the opening?
A. Rewards amount, discount information, limited quantity, country and shipping cost, reward composition and options cannot be modified after the opening of this funding. Reward names, reward descriptions, representative images, early bird benefit badges, and new rewards can be added even after opening.
| category | Before the opening | After the opening |
| Rewards amount | Modifiable | Unable to modify |
| Options (Color, Size, etc.) | Modifiable | Unable to modify |
| Restricted quantity | Modifiable | Unable to modify |

Think first about what I can give supporters in my project
A postcard or a line of name is enough. Rewards are the first to say 'Be on my side' to supporters. If you've finished designing the rewards, you're ready to start.
