Rewards Design Guide
You'll find out when you read this
- Rewards go beyond just selling products, and they are a token that connects with fans who support my creation.
- Instead of complicated options, focus on 2 or 3 key rewards, and make sure to show real or lifelike mock-up images together.
- You can't change the amount and options of rewards after the funding is opened, so follow this guide and design it step by step
01. What is Rewards?
Rewards refer to products or services that are provided to the supporters who participated in the project as a token of appreciation. It's not just a product that's exchanged for money, but it means that we support the maker's project.
If you have an attractively well-organized reward, you can make supporters reach payments faster, and also increase the size of your project success.
Why is it important?
Wadiz supporters visit the site not out of necessity, but out of curiosity
Supporters need some product right now, not looking for Wadiz. I visit the site to see the 'fun project'.
Even if you don't need the product right away, supporters can fund it if the rewards feel attractive, or if you feel the authenticity of the maker.
Things to consider when it comes to creative launch and fandom formation projects
1. Is it better to make more rewards options?
When there are more options, supporters delay their decision and leave. Focus on your core rewards, and place the most popular options at the top. The options are within two to three.
2. What do creators often miss when designing rewards?
When I first start funding, there are parts that I miss without knowing if I'm motivated. Typically, you can prevent mistakes in advance by only being careful with the following four cases.
- If you leave much more open than you can afford directly
- If the options are too complex to be managed in practice
- If you change an element that is not in the image or description later
- When the creator's personality is not visible and is organized like a common merchandise sale
02. How to configure rewards
1) Picking a reward
The creator's reward can be divided into three main categories. Choose the right type for my project.
But you don't have to choose just one. The more you combine it, the more diverse options you can give your supporters.
| type | example | Example Project |
| physical reward | albums, books, poetry collections, essays, art prints, handmade goods | The sentimental spring picnic that you prepare at once! Carrendash Oil Pastel Drawing Kit |
| Digital Rewards | Sound source files, PDF manuscripts, high resolution images, video content | [Gokseong, Pumyo] A perfect guide to K-Oriental philosophy, 'Korean version of the occult drawing' |
| Economic Rewards | Performance/exhibition tickets, online classes, studio tours, 1:1 feedback | The first project to make a failed singer's album! |
2) Configuring Rewards
① Single & Set Configuration
Rewards can consist of a single or set. The set is an option for "someone who wants to cheer more."
Organizing a single or hands-on reward with a set reward can lead to more supporters' participation.
How the creator expands when there's only one product
- Configure 'Related Content Sets' to Increase Value
When you feel a little bored with a single product, it is a method of providing props or text/video content that have the same texture as the main reward as an appendix as a set.
You can dramatically increase the value of your rewards without having to spend a lot of money.
For example: album + lyric book, poetry collection + writer's postcard, movie + making film
2. Composition of 'special experiences' that add scarcity
It is a way to maximize scarcity by combining makers' sincerity, time, and offline participation opportunities with rewards that can never be experienced elsewhere.
For example, limited autographed copy, handwritten thank-you message, offline thank-you performance
3. Configuring a 'step-by-step package' that lowers barriers to entry
It is also good to create a structure where you can freely choose according to your heart's size, from supporters who want to cheer for you lightly to core fans who want to cheer for you very deeply.
e.g. Digital Single Goods / Digital + Physical Goods / Digital + Physical + Experience (signs, postcards, thank you messages)
② Reward name
The reward name is the most important information for supporters to remember the reward, and it is effective if you write it according to the formula below.
- Templates:
- [Early Bird Badge] + [Brand/Product Name] + [Composition]
- [Early Bird Badge] + [Set (Package) or Product Name] + [Product Name] + [Composition]
- Example: Emojis and goods are easy to make! 3D Modelling Conquering Set Ends with iPad

Please use regular and accurate reward names so that you can find the rewards you read in the story at a glance.
- Please write a consistent rule so that each reward can be easily distinguished.
- If you give a unique name depending on the situation, duration, and capacity when configuring the set, the supporters can remember it longer.
③ Rewards Description
Please include the items below so that supporters can understand exactly what they actually receive.
- Includes:
- Rewards name, configuration, number
- List of rewards options (color, size, etc.)
- Benefits or benefits offered (early bird discount rate, limited quantity, etc.)
- Shipping method: Free shipping, packaging method
- Period of use
- Example: Emoticon and goods production are easy! 3D Modelling Conquering Set Ends with iPad

④ Rewards Image
The reward image is the first impression that makes a supporter feel like "I want to get this." Analysis of Wadiz project data in May 2026 showed that projects that registered Rewards representative images had a 1.7 times higher conversion rate of funding payments than those that did not.

Image Tips by Creator Type
- Musician — full shot of the album physical + package composition. Spread out and take a picture so that you can see all the components such as cases, housekeeping, and enclosed postcards.
- Author — book cover + or some + components in its entirety. Photos that convey the texture and paper feel of the book are effective.
- Visual Artist — a single photograph of a print with a good color. Directing pictures on the frame or on the wall also make us imagine what supporters would look like when they receive them.
If it is difficult to shoot because the actual reward is not yet completed, you can show the mock-up image of the package you are planning to produce and explain in detail what components are going to be put in.
In the case of digital rewards, visualizing the "feel of receiving" is key as there is no real thing.
- Sound source file → Replace with album cover image or artwork
- PDF manuscript and e-book → Mockup image (the appearance displayed on tablet and laptop screen)
- High resolution image and digital drawing → Use the work itself as a reward image
Avoid text-oriented images and organize them with visuals that feel the atmosphere and quality of the content.
03. How to set the reward amount
The amount of the reward is determined by adding the cost of producing the reward and the cost required to execute the project.
- Actual cost of production (by cost): The actual cost of creating and delivering rewards.
Production cost + labor cost + packaging cost + courier cost + wadiz fee + margin = reward price
Things a creator should pay special attention to
If you set the reward amount too low, it won't last. Low prices often lead to losses after success.
Set it on a "sustainable price" basis.
Please refer to similar projects. Looking for a similar category of creator projects in Wadiz will help you figure out a realistic price range.
04. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. Can I add or change the reward content later?
A. Rewards options are restricted from being changed after the opening of this funding.
- The option itself (size/color composition, etc.), amount, and limited quantity can only be changed before the end of the scheduled opening period, and cannot be changed after the start of this funding.
- The reward name and reward description can be modified both during the opening and main funding process, and adding another new reward is also possible during the main funding process.

Q. After opening the funding, I want to change the reward option to reflect the request of the supporter, is there any way?
A. It is impossible to change the options of the existing rewards directly after the funding has been opened. If you want to add options while running the project, I recommend you to respond like this.
Please keep the existing options and configurations intact and supplement the description on the detailed page or kindly guide the situation to the supporters through the news function. The safest and wisest solution is then to open up additional new rewards options that reflect the necessary changes so that supporters can choose new options.
Q. Do I have to set the limit quantity?
A. It's not a must. However, the quantity limit has the effect of stimulating scarcity. If you set it up, you can't change it after disclosure, and if you set too much quantity, you can expose a lot of remaining inventory, which can have the opposite effect of looking unpopular. If it's a physical reward, be sure to check and set the quantity that can be produced first.
