Wadiz, which operates Korea's largest crowdfunding platform, announced on the 5th that it invited 15 executives from Uzbekistan's economic policy departments including the Ministry of Economic Development and Finance, Central Bank, and Digital Technology Ministry and related experts to its headquarters in Pangyo.
This visit was organized as part of the 'Economic Development Experience Sharing Project (Knowledge Sharing Program, hereafter KSP)' hosted by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and Korea Development Institute (KDI), to share Korea's fintech innovation cases and strategies for revitalizing Uzbekistan's financial services market. Uzbekistan is one of the first-year partner countries of KSP, and this year policy consulting on fintech regulatory sandboxes is being conducted based on the Ministry of Strategy and Finance's business needs.
The Uzbekistan delegation comprised executives and experts from economic policy departments that design and operate financial regulatory sandbox systems, and it is known that they visited major fintech companies such as Wadiz, Toss, and Kakao Pay from May 31st to June 1st.
Wadiz conveyed to the Uzbekistan delegation the service's introduction and growth as a crowdfunding innovation case in Korea, along with its business structure and business know-how. The delegation showed high interest in the platform's various successful funding cases and sophisticated risk management system, and expressed interest in the fact that young people in their 20s and 30s make up a significant portion of the service users.
An Uzbekistan official said, "Uzbekistan's fintech company investment and policy design required new and innovative cases like crowdfunding," and added, "Along with several other Korean fintech companies, the crowdfunding industry created by Wadiz is expected to be of great help in Uzbekistan's financial development."
A Wadiz official said, "It is an honor to introduce crowdfunding to Uzbekistan's economic ministry officials and experts as a successful case of Korea's innovative fintech industry," and added, "Wadiz will continue to build up know-how and experience that can bring innovation to the fintech industry."
