Wadiz Strengthens Strategic Partnership with Japan's Makuake... "Cross-Border Crowdfunding… Expanding Support"
- Expanding support for domestic startups and small-to-medium enterprises' expansion into Japan… Providing comprehensive infrastructure support including logistics services
- Establishing a 'Fast Track' for Global Expansion of Funded Companies
- Actively collaborating with Japan's small-to-medium enterprises in their Korea expansion efforts through webinars and talk shows sharing 'Secrets to Funding Success'

Wadiz is actively supporting domestic funding-successful companies to expand into Japan in collaboration with Makuake. Moreover, unique and innovative funding-successful products from Japan will now be easily accessible through Wadiz.
Wadiz, a lifestyle design crowdfunding platform, announced on the 15th that it has signed a strategic business agreement with Japan's largest crowdfunding platform ‘Makuake’ at Wadiz headquarters in Pangyo on the 13th.
Founded in 2013, Makuake is Japan's leading crowdfunding platform company, which was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in December 2019. It primarily conducts rewards-based crowdfunding and has achieved funding success totaling approximately 75 billion yen (approximately 6.848 trillion won in Korean currency).
This agreement was newly concluded to strengthen collaboration on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of both companies' MOU signing, and was established to provide global expansion opportunities for funding-successful companies in each country and to promote mutual cooperation for the development of the Asian crowdfunding ecosystem.
Wadiz and Makuake have already created global collaboration achievements over the past four years. Domestic funding-successful companies recommended by Wadiz have successfully raised funds on the Makuake platform using the Fast Track. For example, ‘Whaheim Corporation’, which showcased a 'wireless vacuum sealing machine' on Wadiz and raised 130 million won, opened a Makuake funding campaign and raised 13,432,920 yen (approximately 120 million won in Korean currency).
Through this agreement, both companies will strengthen exchanges by recommending and introducing successful startup products and services from each platform. For example, if a small-to-medium enterprise among Makuake funding-successful makers wishes to enter the Korean market, it will receive support from Wadiz to prepare for opening a Wadiz funding campaign, and Japanese expansion by Wadiz funding-successful makers will be supported by Makuake. In this regard, both companies plan to provide comprehensive infrastructure including logistics services necessary for global expansion.
Hyesung Shin, CEO of Wadiz, said, "Based on the achievements we have made together with Makuake, we will actively support global funding makers crossing borders," and added, "We will provide domestic startups and small-to-medium enterprises with opportunities for global business expansion, and introduce supporters to Japan's new and innovative products to maximize the joy of discovery."
Meanwhile, Wadiz and Makuake plan to increase networking events starting with a webinar in August for Japanese small-to-medium enterprises hoping to enter the Korean market.
