Wadiz Celebrates Success of 'Daegu Maker Day' "Local Business Owners Make National Debut Through Wadiz"
- Accumulated Online and Offline Participation of 100,000 Regional Startups in 'Wadiz Maker Day' Held in Daegu Following Incheon This Year
- Sharing Growth Know-how Including Funding Basics and Success Strategies… "Strengthening Local Maker Cultivation"
Life Design Crowdfunding Platform Wadiz Successfully Held 'Daegu Maker Day' on the 14th at the Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center, targeting local small business owners.
Wadiz Maker Day is Korea's largest crowdfunding briefing session that visits regional makers across the country. With over 2,500 participants offline and cumulative online participation exceeding 100,000, it has contributed to discovery of regional makers and expansion of the startup ecosystem. In the first half of this year, it was held in Daegu following Incheon.
The briefing session was conducted with the attendance of approximately 200 prospective entrepreneurs from the Daegu region. After Wadiz's official educational partners shared funding basics and success strategies, a Q&A session followed. Participants were provided with two types of funding guidebooks and selected participants received 1:1 expert consulting from Wadiz specialists.
Lee Seung-yeon, Team Lead of Wadiz Maker Growth Planning Team, said “Wadiz has been discovering attractive local small business owners and startup companies through visiting briefing sessions since 2016” and “In the future, we will discover promising makers from various regions and introduce them to 6 million Wadiz supporters across the nation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Wadiz has positioned itself as a '0th distribution channel' that allows local small business owners to secure pre-customers as a testbed when entering online business. By conducting customized promotional events concentrated on seasonal and category-specific benefits, participation from small business owners and small brands in need of marketing support is increasing. In July, Wadiz is recruiting makers to participate in 'Tech Appliances Week' and 'Books and E-books Week'.
