The crowdfunding platform Wadiz announced on the 24th that in January, the number of book funding supporters increased by 62% year-over-year, and the number of projects increased by 44%.

The growth of book funding is backed by the success of the publishing planning exhibition 'Wadiz Bookstore'. The exhibition, which ran from January 16th to February 2nd, attracted approximately 48,000 alarm notifications, forming anticipation, and achieved funding in the 1 billion won range, receiving praise for providing new opportunities for small publishers.

The Wadiz Bookstore showcased a wide range of books and published materials tailored to segmented reader preferences that were difficult to find in existing bookstores. In particular, ∆AI Art ∆Book Sonnet ∆Book Freelancer and other categories were created, perfectly matching the tastes of Wadiz supporters seeking new experiences.

Notable examples include 'National Baby Collection' presented by Rainbow Publishing, which generated sales of 270 million won in pre-orders in about 20 days, and presented by Moksu Bookhouse, which, despite being a high-priced book in the 10-20 million won range, succeeded in raising 170 million won in funding and gained attention. Additionally, , a catalog directly selected by the director of the Minhwa Museum, succeeded in raising 100 million won in funding in less than a month, and by Minumsa was fully reprinted for the first time in 20 years, achieving 4,000% of the target amount within two days of opening and successfully concluding with 60 million won in funding.

The background for Wadiz emerging as an attractive distribution channel in the book publishing market is that demand can be secured through crowdfunding, and it is advantageous for achieving stable sales and acquiring new readers. Cases are increasing where new authors or solo publishers can achieve in one month of funding period the quantity that is sold in bookstores over one year through Wadiz's systematized marketing support.
