As Second Child Births Rise, Funding Doubles... Birth Rate Rebounds with Wadiz 'in Full Bloom'
Q3 Birth Rate Recovery and Practical Consumption Impact
Kids Category Funding Transaction Volume Records 134%
Related Funding Transaction Volume and Number of Participants Skyrocket
The 'Kids' category of crowdfunding platform Wadiz is growing rapidly. With last year's rebound in birth rates and millennial parents' practical consumption trends aligning, both funding transaction volume and number of participants nearly doubled. The Kids category is positioning itself as a new growth engine for Wadiz.
According to Wadiz on the 21st, the funding transaction volume in the Kids category last year was recorded at 7.894 billion won. This is a 91.8% increase compared to the previous year (4.115 billion won). On a quarterly basis, Q3 recorded a 134.2% increase compared to the same period last year, marking the highest figure of the year. Q1 (116.9%), Q2 (98.4%), and Q4 (60.1%) also showed strong growth. Last year's funding projects totaled 343 cases, a 30% increase from the previous year (264 cases), and quality growth was also achieved as projects led to larger fundraising per project. As much as the increased funding transaction volume, the number of funding participants also increased significantly. Last year, the number of funding participants in Wadiz's Kids category reached approximately 60,000, nearly doubling from the previous year (31,000 people).

A Wadiz official stated, "In the parenting and childbirth products market, products with special functions or differentiated value are selected," and analyzed that "the customer response resulting from promoting products with low brand recognition but excellent product quality became the driving force behind the growth of the Kids market."
This trend is reflected in performance as well. The rapidly growing Kids category has also contributed to improving the profitability of Wadiz, which had suffered losses for several years. A Wadiz official stated, "We successfully achieved operating profit profitability in Q3 last year, and we are also looking forward to achieving profitability on a half-year basis."
