Wadiz Successfully Hosts 'Korea Market Entry Funding Briefing' in Shenzhen, China… Local Tech Startups 'Take Notice'
- Over 130 local companies participated in 'Wadiz Funding Briefing' held in Shenzhen, China on April 19th
- Chinese tech startups showing interest in 'Korea crowdfunding Wadiz' as a new overseas market entry channel
- Wadiz recruiting domestic funding partners to collaborate with Chinese makers
Wadiz, a funding store platform, announced on the 23rd that it successfully hosted a 'Korea Market Entry Funding Briefing' targeting tech-based innovative companies in Nanshan, Shenzhen, China.
The event was organized to introduce to startups and technology innovation companies in Shenzhen, China a strategy for entering the Korean market using the global crowdfunding platform 'Wadiz'.
The event was attended by 130 promising Chinese companies from various sectors, including hardware tech firms, demonstrating strong interest in entering the Korean market. Wadiz initially prepared the event for around 100 companies, but due to unexpectedly strong response, pre-registration closed early and the capacity was expanded.
This interest stems from Chinese companies seeking new overseas market entry channels due to uncertainties in international tariffs. In particular, Korean crowdfunding allows companies to quickly gauge consumer response before official launch, leading many Chinese tech companies to view Korea as a testbed channel.
The briefing introduced the characteristics of the Korean market and Wadiz's global service launch plans. Additionally, case studies of Chinese hardware startups that successfully entered the Korean market through Wadiz were also shared.
Notably, the global robot vacuum brand 'Roborock' conducted Wadiz crowdfunding in December 2021 and achieved approximately 311 million won in funding.
Recently, 'Hover', which presented an AI flying camera 'gimbal drone', achieved 200 million won in just one day of funding opening, and Shenzhen-based maker 'Laser Pecker' succeeded in raising 1 billion won in funding with its laser engraving products.
Wadiz plans to recruit domestic funding operators to collaborate with Chinese local makers and funding agencies. Those selected as official global partners of Wadiz will assist in the Korean market entry and stable settlement of excellent Chinese makers. Seo Moo-bin, team leader of Wadiz's Connect Team, who prepared this event, said, "Through this event, I became confident that Chinese companies are paying attention to Korea as a new overseas market entry route," and added, "Wadiz will continue to expand its role as a 'cross-border' platform helping global innovative companies enter world markets."
