What exchange rate criteria apply when paying for a global project?
Depending on the payment method chosen by the international supporter (Stripe scheduled payment or Alipay immediate payment), the final amount is confirmed and fixed based on the exchange rate at the time of participation.
For the convenience of international supporters, the local currency amounts of each country displayed on the project details page (story) are converted and displayed based on the real-time estimated exchange rate.
✅Stripe (Scheduled Payment Method) → Payment in US Dollar (USD)
- Dollar (USD) Billing and Fixed Exchange Rate: For international supporters making scheduled payments through Stripe, the final card billing and payment are processed based on the US Dollar (USD). At this time the final payment currency (USD dollar) amount is confirmed and fixed based on the exchange rate at the time of funding participation.
Even if the exchange rate fluctuates on the actual payment date after the project ends, supporters are charged the fixed dollar amount from the time of participation. - Actual Payment Amount Difference: Depending on the currency exchange fee and applicable exchange rate of the card company providing the payment method, there may be slight differences between the estimated amount based on each country's currency displayed on the site at the time of payment and the final dollar amount charged on the actual card statement.
✅ Alipay (Immediate Payment Method)→Payment in Korean Won (KRW)
Korean Won (KRW) Payment and Fixed Exchange Rate: For international supporters who make payment immediately upon participation through Alipay, payment is processed based on Korean Won (KRW), not foreign currency. At this time, the final payment amount in Korean Won is confirmed and fixed based on the exchange rate at the time of funding participation.
The final withdrawal amount in the supporter's local currency is determined according to Alipay's own payment network's real-time exchange rate and fee policy.
