Wadiz (CEO Shin Hye-sung, www.wadiz.kr) announced that in January of this year, monthly active users (MAU) increased 2.5 times compared to the same period last year, and international transactions grew more than 8 times, establishing itself as a global launch platform for domestic small business owners and emerging brands.
The key driver of growth is the continued influx of international users following the global service launch in May of last year. In particular, international visitors are rapidly increasing centered on the United States, Japan, and China, with approximately 40% of total MAU accessing from abroad as of January this year. Driven by this, actual transactions are occurring in over 40 countries, demonstrating visible results from the global service.
Additionally, an average of more than 100 funding projects per month are launching into international markets through Wadiz, driving the growth of global transaction volume.
By category, K-Beauty (21%), K-Goods (19%), and K-Fashion (18%) led the growth, accounting for more than half of international transaction value. Official merchandise funding for tvN's "The Chef from Hell" and SBS's "Taxi Driver 3" attracted high interest with participation from global fanbases in over 20 countries.
Additionally, "Beauty Device" and "Daily Korean Traditional Dress" projects also demonstrated Korea's technological prowess and design competitiveness with continued participation from consumers in English-speaking regions.
Beyond consumer goods, global participation is also continuing in content projects such as e-books and classes. The "Digital Drawing Brush and Class" funding attracted supporters from 12 countries across Asia, North America, and Europe, demonstrating global scalability not limited to specific countries. Through this, Wadiz confirmed its establishment as a global gateway for K-Funding encompassing both consumer goods and content.
Meanwhile, Wadiz is also expanding its role as a platform for international brands to enter the Korean market. Recently, it has strengthened global maker discovery and cooperation networks by establishing offices in Tokyo and Shenzhen.
In fact, global tech products such as AI smartphone "MindOne," AI wearable robot "HyperShell," and AI glasses "Leion Hey2" have been successfully launched on Wadiz one after another, establishing it as a "launchpad" for international innovative brands to enter the Korean market.
A Wadiz official stated, "The rapid growth in MAU and international transactions is a meaningful indicator showing that domestic makers are directly connecting with global consumers through Wadiz," and added, "We will continue to strengthen our role as a global platform so that more K-innovative makers can use Wadiz as a springboard to challenge the global market."
