CASE 01 Detailed Cases
Cases of Unsubstantiated Superlative Expressions
These are cases where superlative or comparative expressions such as '#1 in the industry,' 'world's first,' or 'only one in Korea' were used without objective basis or supporting evidence. Such expressions may cause consumers to incorrectly perceive the product's quality, effectiveness, or market superiority, and their use may be restricted as false or exaggerated advertising under the Act on Fair Labeling and Advertising.

03· This Week's Major Issues — Cases of Exaggerated Reward Performance & Efficacy Expressions
We share cases where potential consumer misunderstanding was identified due to exaggerated expressions regarding reward performance and efficacy.
1. False/Exaggerated Advertising of Home Appliance Performance
Report Content
A supporter report was received stating that exaggerated figures and expressions compared to actual performance were used in the course of presenting product performance information within the project story.
Confirmation Content
Upon reviewing the performance-related expressions and reward information in the project, the test report submitted by the maker was confirmed, but discrepancies were found between its content and the performance figures cited in the actual story. Accordingly, it was determined that there was a possibility of consumer misunderstanding due to expressions differing from objective basis, and a story revision request and related actions were taken.

2. False/Exaggerated Advertising of Physical Performance Enhancement
Report Content
A supporter report was received stating that exaggerated expressions were used implying that use of the reward would enhance physical ability and exercise performance.
Confirmation Content
The actual reward was retrieved and tested to verify normal device operation, and no functional issues were found. However, the verification results did not confirm a direct effect on enhancing physical ability, so a story revision request and related actions were taken for expressions that could lead to a definitive perception of physical performance enhancement.
Direction for Operational Improvement
Based on the above cases, Wadiz will strengthen inspection of false or exaggerated advertising expressions, such as performance figures differing from objective basis and claims of physical performance enhancement, and will continue monitoring and reviewing project stories and reward information that may cause consumer misunderstanding.
