[Transparency Report] August Transparency Report - Focusing on Major Funding Cases #TrustFundingWithWadiz

The Transparency Report is released monthly to introduce real cases where meaningful measures have been taken to minimize backer damage among projects received by Wadiz through member reports, etc. During the funding process, unexpected issues may arise in the project you funded.  Wadiz is doing its best to take measures that can minimize backer damage by coordinating with makers, so please report any issues you are experiencing to Wadiz at any time through "Report Project".

All content below is based on actual cases.  

1. Report Received

Multiple reports received through "Report Project" in the category of 'False Story'

• The maker disclosed the specs of a different model rather than the reward provided in the story, displaying and advertising the features of that model as if they exist in the reward of this project.

2. Fact Verification and Clarification  

• As a result of fact verification, it was confirmed that there is a difference between the specs shown in the story and the actual specs of the reward
• The maker acknowledged potential confusion in the story and posted an apology

3. Measures Taken

Wadiz Measure: Decided to refund funding amount

However, customers who have already received funding are free to choose from the conditions offered by the maker.

Maker Measure: Guided backers to select from one of the following three options

• Refund funding amount
• Change to a product with the function shown in the story and ship
• (When using existing products) Earn 100,000 points at our shopping mall + Receive complimentary specialized detergent as compensation

1. Report Received

A reporter claiming to be the rights holder filed a report in the category 'Intellectual Property Rights Infringement'

The reporter submitted a design infringement opinion stating that the reward of this project infringed upon the entire design shape, color, material, and function of the reporter's registered design patent.

 2. Fact Verification and Clarification  

No clear intellectual property rights infringement was confirmed, and there is a potential for legal dispute between the reporter and the maker

• The maker posted an expert opinion stating that there is no intellectual property infringement and a rebuttal article regarding the differences from the product claimed by the reporter.  

3. Measures Taken

Wadiz Measure: Project proceeds, received commitment letter and statement guarantee certificate

According to Wadiz's Intellectual Property Protection Policy (2. Scope of Intellectual Property Protection Policy, 5. Measures for Intellectual Property Infringement), Wadiz does not make direct judicial judgments, so funding proceeds as planned.

Maker Measure: Submitted clarification materials regarding intellectual property infringement, and promised sufficient backer protection through a commitment letter

If legal proceedings are initiated in the future and the intellectual property infringement is confirmed by court judgment, the maker submitted a "commitment letter" to Wadiz promising to refund the entire funding amount to backers without recovering the reward.  

1. Report Received

Wadiz confirmed simultaneous sales across other channels through its own monitoring

• It was confirmed that the same product as the maker's reward product is being sold on the maker's own shopping mall.
•  Selling the same product as the reward before completion of reward provision violates service agreements and funding review policies, so the maker was requested for fact verification.

2. Fact Verification and Clarification  

Despite requesting fact verification from the maker regarding simultaneous sales across channels, clarification was not provided within the deadline, and the project was selected as a target for full funding refund due to project cancellation

3. Measures Taken

Wadiz Measure: Project Cancelled

Full refund of funding due to violation of crowdfunding agreement.  

Maker Measure: Implemented full refund of funding amount
