Wadiz Store, celebrating its 1st anniversary, is emerging as a new distribution success channel connecting brands verified through crowdfunding with fansumers (fans + consumers).
Wadiz, a lifestyle design crowdfunding platform, announced on the 27th that 'Wadiz Store' service, which allows you to immediately purchase products that succeeded in crowdfunding, has reached its 1st anniversary.
The 'Wadiz Store' is an online store where only products that gained high satisfaction through 'crowdfunding', Wadiz's signature service, can be listed. It was launched in September of last year to support the growth of startups and small and medium-sized enterprises that need to secure sales channels after crowdfunding.
Unlike open marketplaces where sellers can list freely, only products verified through 'crowdfunding' where supporters participate in the product planning and manufacturing process can be listed, making it also gaining attention as a new distribution channel for 'fansumers' who actively support what they like.
Over the past year, Wadiz Store has seen about 1,000 successful crowdfunding makers launch more than 1,600 projects. Transaction volume increased 333% in 2022 compared to the launch year of 2021, and live projects increased 352%, particularly driving sales channel expansion and revenue growth for small brands.
A representative example is 'Inteco A&T', which has evolved into an IP manufacturing maker through Wadiz. After achieving 500 million won in crowdfunding with the idea product 'Jinro Dispenser', a collaboration combining the Toad IP of Hite-Jinro, a leading domestic liquor company, it was listed on Wadiz Store and generated sales close to 2 billion won, more than 3 times higher. Based on expertise in the IP manufacturing field, it continues to grow through collaborations with Snoopy, Maplestory, and Coca-Cola.
As a representative case of greater sales on the store after successful crowdfunding, 'Geumseong-gwan Naju Gomtang' is noteworthy. 'Geumseong-gwan Naju Gomtang', which opened crowdfunding in January last year for regular customers who found it difficult to visit the restaurant due to COVID-19, was listed on Wadiz Store based on strong support from backers and achieved sales revenue close to 10 times the crowdfunding amount. 'Geumseong-gwan Naju Gomtang', recognized for its growth potential, was selected for 'wadiz NEXT BRAND' launched in June this year from Wadiz Finance, and is expected to receive comprehensive support benefits including financial and marketing support, and product acquisition.
Wadiz Store gains attention because it is composed of crowdfunding success products such as novel idea products and local restaurants that have gone online, which stand out, and the differentiated product curation capability only found at Wadiz Store, such as 'Wadiz only' products, has been effective.
Additionally, the 'Wadiz Shipping' system, which directly purchases products that have gained high trust and satisfaction from fans and ships the next day, also contributed. Wadiz handles the entire system of sales, shipping, and customer service, enabling makers to open up sales channels without inventory burden from crowdfunding to store and focus on making better products, according to evaluation.
To commemorate its 1st anniversary, Wadiz Store will introduce representative makers that have grown with the store through the 29th and run daily first-come, first-served discount coupon events. A special exhibition will also be held at 'Space Wadiz', an offline experience shop located in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, until October 3rd. From idea products such as shipping box cutters, dual-sealed multi-cubes, and hand printers that have accumulated 20,000 crowdfunding records, to Di Mapp's all-purpose serum and Tomin Sparkling Water, many beauty, food, and home living brands that have started and grown together with Wadiz can be found.
