[Transparency Report] January 2023 Transparency Report

Wadiz has been publishing monthly transparency reports since August 2020. A transparency report is a report that contains the complaints filed by Wadiz members and the results of actions taken in response to those complaints, and is structured primarily around funding complaint filing data. Through this report, we aim to transparently disclose the actual data on how Wadiz responds to project issues, creating a platform environment that members can trust and use more reliably.
1. Complaint Filing Data
- The number of complaint filings is measured based on the number of complaints received through the ‘Report’ function on the right side of the funding project page , and when there are multiple complaints regarding a single project, they are counted in multiples according to the number of complainants.
- The types of complaints filed include ‘intellectual property rights infringement’, ‘false information in story’, ‘distribution of identical products through other channels’, ‘community policy violations’, etc. These are reasons that contradict the purpose of funding or undermine the Wadiz community order.
- Complaint filing data represents a key indicator that shows potential risks that can directly or indirectly cause supporter damage and complaints.

2. Number of Reported Projects
- ‘Number of reported projects’ refers to the number of projects that have received one or more complaints, and even if multiple complaints are filed, if the subject of the complaints is the same project, it is counted as one.
- The proportion of reported projects compared to open projects represents the proportion of projects among all projects that can cause supporter damage and complaints, which is a key indicator.

3. Coming Soon Report Ratio
- ‘Coming soon’ refers to a pre-release service that allows supporters to preview a project story before the official funding begins.
The coming soon project page provides a notification request function when the funding officially opens. - Reports filed during the coming soon phase serve as a function to detect risks in advance before the official project opening, which enables proactive problem-solving before the official funding opens.

4. Complaint Project Category Statistics
- This is the classification data by category of projects that received complaints this month.
- This month, 12 out of a total of 17 project categories received complaints.

5. Complaint Project Processing Results
- All complaints that meet the filing requirements are undergoing fact verification.
- For projects where issues are identified, follow-up actions are taken in accordance with Wadiz funding complaint policies.
- During the fact-checking process, if a maker's submission is necessary, Wadiz requests a submission through official notice, and if necessary, discloses the complaint facts and submission request details to supporters as news.

- Processing Complete
As a result of fact verification for complaints that meet the filing requirements, cases where they are determined to have ‘problems’ based on policy and subsequent procedures such as funding refund, inappropriate content deletion, and project cancellation are carried out, or cases where they are determined to have ‘no problems’ based on policy and the follow-up procedures are completed without further action - Processing in Progress
Cases where fact verification is in progress for complaints that meet the filing requirements, or where subsequent procedures are in progress due to being determined as having 'problems' based on policy - Processing Unnecessary
Cases classified as ‘requirements not met complaints’ or ‘previously concluded issues’, where no subsequent procedures have been carried out
⁕ Requirements not met complaint: A filed complaint that fails to meet the filing requirements or lacks supporting evidence to back up the complaint content, making it difficult to proceed with follow-up procedures
⁕ Previously concluded issue: An issue that meets the filing requirements but was already fact-verified in the past based on the current month, concluded as ‘no issue’, or where necessary measures such as ‘project cancellation’ or ‘funding refund’ have been completed, making further follow-up procedures unnecessary
6. Service Monitoring Data
- Wadiz constantly strives to build and protect a safe funding ecosystem that service users can trust.
- Service monitoring data is the number of service monitoring activities and measures conducted by the Trust and Safety Team.
- In January, a total of 1,737 instances of monitoring were conducted through service monitoring, of which measures were taken in 45 cases.

- Types of Wadiz Service Monitoring
⁕ Monitoring of distribution of identical products through other channels: Before the rewards of a funding project are shipped, if the same product as the reward is sold through other channels or if funding is conducted, the project is included in the monitoring target for distribution of identical products through other channels.
⁕ Monitoring for misuse of news purpose: When information unrelated to the project's original purpose (promotion of other sales channels, link guides, etc.) is posted in news, it is included in the monitoring target for misuse of news purpose.
⁕ Monitoring of funding achievement rate manipulation : When a maker or a third party with vested interests in a maker intentionally participates in funding to increase the project's funding achievement rate, they are included in the monitoring target for achievement rate abuse.
⁕ Monitoring of false information in story: When suspicious circumstances of false information in a project story are identified, the project is included in the monitoring target for false information in story.
