- Wadiz’s authenticity lies in its “stories.”
- Just reading the maker's introduction should inspire trust in the quality of your product or service.
- Here, we’ll introduce copywriting and strategies for maker profiles that set Wadiz apart from other platforms.

It’s not hard to find news segments featuring professors from University X being interviewed about consumer trends. While the reporters covering these stories likely have a certain level of expertise, why do they go out of their way to include interviews with university professors? It’s because the credibility and authenticity of the message are greatly influenced by who is speaking.

It’s just like how the same recipe seems more trustworthy when explained by a chef wearing a white apron.
The same applies to Story.
Depending on the type of product or service, the aspects you should emphasize when introducing the maker will vary. If the maker is a “chef dad,” you might focus on the fact that he’s a “chef” in the food category, and on the fact that he’s a “dad” in the home living, education, or kids categories. Whatever the case, it’s essential to show that the maker is an expert in that project.
So, with your name on the line, shall we go write that story? Here’s a guide to writing a story told by the maker.
The Authenticity of wadiz Stories: The Story Edition

01. Introducing Yourself Without Saying “Hello”

Just reading the maker’s introduction should inspire trust in the quality of the maker’s product or service. Try starting the introduction with a single sentence that replaces the common greeting “Hello.” It would feel natural to follow that up by explaining who the maker is and what they’ve done in the past, wouldn’t it?
The maker of the “Gentle Mer” project took a photo with the Rewards as the backdrop, “hanging” them around their neck. Just as mentioned in their introduction—that they “hung the pillow around their neck”—the photo conveys both their love for pillows and a touch of wit.

When writing a story in narrative form , you should carefully select a photo that clearly shows the maker’s face. Rather than a photo where the maker looks beautiful or handsome, it’s best to carefully select a photo that makes the maker look like an industry expert .
- If the product is furniture, include a photo of you doing the woodworking yourself
- If the product is cosmetics, a photo of the maker applying the product or conducting research—
This approach better showcases the maker's expertise. Please be even more careful in selecting this photo than you would be when choosing a KakaoTalk profile picture.
02. Explain the Motivation Behind Creating Your Product or Service
Next, please share the story behind why you created your product or service as a maker. If there was a specific issue you identified that motivated you to try solving it yourself, feel free to include that as well.

As in the example mentioned earlier, the maker of the “Gentle Mer” project explained in detail the curiosity that arose while looking at a pillow. They even went so far as to call something that others might simply laugh off “the most mysterious thing in human history,” and shared the reason they decided to develop the pillow themselves.
03. Why are you running funding on wadiz?
Did you suddenly find yourself tearing up while writing about what inspired you to create this? I completely understand. The process of creating a product or service that’s never existed before certainly wasn’t easy . So, why not tell your supporters why you’re choosing to debut this product or service —which is the result of your blood, sweat, and tears— on wadiz first?

The GentleMer maker
- —just as a photo of a supporter applying the product and conducting research themselves—
- and the decade spent developing the Rewards—
explained the background behind choosing wadiz. While expressing your belief that supporters will listen closely to the maker’s story, don’t forget to subtly ask them to cheer for the maker!

Alternatively, you could mention that you came to wadiz thanks to its supporters. It’s also a good idea to offer a little praise to wadiz supporters in this section. The maker of Fight Club, an interactive board game, explained that they came to wadiz to gain the support of the community because wadiz attracts people who “want to have fun and meaningful conversations in their daily lives.” Even those who haven’t received funding for Fight Club might feel a brief sense of pride and view the maker more favorably, right?
04. Introducing Rewards Products and Services
Now it’s time to introduce your product or service. This will likely take up the largest portion of your Story.

Why not follow the example of the Fight Club maker and start by presenting your Rewards in a single sentence? The one-sentence summary you provide will serve as a guide for readers as they delve into the details that follow!
05. Recommended for These People
Once you’ve finished introducing the Rewards, it’s a good idea to briefly describe who this product or service is recommended for. Think about who might have experienced a situation similar to that of the maker or who might empathize with their concerns.

“Recommended for these people” is another way of saying “If you’re this kind of person, please engage in funding.” The key here is to evoke a specific sense of connection that makes people nod and think, “Ah, that’s me!” What if the #FightClub maker had strongly recommended #FightClub to “everyone who needs a conversation”? Please remember this: a product or service that appeals to everyone appeals to no one!
06. Closing Remarks
Experts from various fields likely helped you prepare this project. Why not take a moment to say a final thank-you to them? The “Gentle Mer” project began with your introductionand concluded with a heartfelt thank-you to the people who helped shape you into the maker you are today.
This creates a story with a clear beginning and end, and the emotion it stirs in your supporters’ hearts is a bonus! Of course, expressing your gratitude to your supporters is also a great idea.
There isn’t a single maker who isn’t at least a little nervous before launching a project. After all, you can’t be sure how supporters will view your product or service, or whether they’ll actually find it appealing enough to back it. But there’s one unchanging truth about funding, as certain as the Earth’s rotation:
There isn’t a single supporter who doesn’t feel drawn to honest and authentic makers.
