- Funding is different from shopping. That’s because it’s not simply about buying and selling products or services.
- That’s why wadiz has essential elements that absolutely must be included in your story.
- I’ll walk you through, step by step, what content to include and how to write it to complete that Story.
When you think of wadiz, you think of stories; when you think of stories, you think of wadiz
Why do we emphasize this so much?

It’s something the makers who come to wadiz never stop talking about. When we sell products online, we have a “product detail page” to describe them. The goal of the product detail page is to attract as many customers as possible by explaining what the product looks like and how it can benefit them.
On wadiz, just like a product detail page in e-commerce, there’s a “Story” that introduces products and projects being unveiled to the world for the first time.
Why “Stories” instead of “product detail pages”?
It’s because funding isn’t simply about buying and selling products or services. In funding, supporters who resonate with the project’s background cheer on the maker, and the maker, in turn, offers “Rewards” or services as a token of gratitude. You need a story unique to you as a maker—one that explains the purpose of raising funds and the reason behind the project.
The project story serves three main purposes.
First, it explains the purpose of the project to raise funding from supporters.
Second, it provides supporters with basic information about the project and the Rewards.
Third, it highlights the unique features of the project or Rewards, explaining what makes them appealing.
There are few opportunities as exciting as discovering a product that’s never existed before. To make the most of this rare opportunity, you need to effectively weave your story into the project description. After all, supporters won’t know the benefits you see until they experience the project for themselves. A well-written project story is the cornerstone of a successful funding campaign.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, wadiz is here to help.
There are four essential elements that must be included in a wadiz funding story. We’ll now explain what content your story should include and how to write it.
Writing your story: Just by following the prompts, you’re 100% complete
1. Explain the background behind your project.
To spark supporters’ interest, explain the background behind your project and what inspired you to develop the Rewards.
It’s easiest if you describe, in a relaxed manner, the situation that led you to decide to develop a new product or the inconveniences you’ve experienced in the past.
In other words, include stories that allow supporters to think, “If I use one of the Rewards, my existing inconveniences will be resolved,” from their perspective.

Is this a crowdfunding campaign?
Crowdfunding is a funding project conducted by individuals—not businesses—to create social value and receive support. In this case, the “purpose” of receiving support is more important than the product itself.
- What is the purpose of seeking support?
- how the donations will be used
- Please also provide guidance on how to share the status and details of how the donations are being used.
Please note that if you mention a specific charity in your Story, you must obtain prior approval from that organization.

2. Please explain what sets your project, product, or service apart.
Please explain what sets your project, product, or service apart. Simply describing these unique features in words may not be convincing enough. Try to make your case more persuasive by showing actual photos of the Rewards featured in your project.
Is it an intangible service?
If the reward is intangible—such as a photography service or a travel package—please explain in detail the reward’s composition, contents, and where it will be provided.

3. Introduce the maker
Now it’s time to reveal “who” created this project. Due to the nature of crowdfunding, supporters cannot receive products immediately, and returns based on a simple change of heart are not possible. To build trust with supporters who may be wondering, “Can I trust this maker enough to support the project?” please introduce yourself with a photo that clearly shows who you are.

An overly polished introduction of a maker can come across as stiff and formal. Approach it as if you’re having a conversation and share the points you feel are absolutely essential to convey. It doesn’t have to be a large, full-face photo. Try using a variety of photos that showcase your personality, such as full-body shots or photos from behind that highlight the project’s production process. Above all, you know that authentic photos that reveal your sincerity and inspire trust are the best, right?
- Photos of brand logos, objects, or buildings—as opposed to photos of people or their bodies—cannot be used.
- Combinations of brand logos and photos of the creator are welcome!
- Side-view photos and photos with a mask on are also acceptable.
- Edited images—such as caricatures, emojis, characters, or AI-generated images—are not permitted.
4. Please tell us why you chose wadiz
Wadiz is a funding ecosystem that serves as a launching pad for many makers just taking their first steps. I’m sure you, too, have your own reasons for choosing wadiz.
Please share why you chose wadiz and its supporters among the many platforms available.
Here, it’s great to convey your sincerity about how you’ll use the supporters’ contributions and funding. By explaining how you’ll use their valuable contributions, you can build trust and make them think, “Ah, I can trust this maker.”

(Pro Tip) The Fine Line Between Success and Failure: Events and Pledges of Support
Once you’ve finished writing your Story, a new challenge begins.
How can we spread the word about this great project to more people?
After all, crowdfunding is about creating a better world by sharing meaningful values with more people.
That’s why wadiz offers notification sign-ups and a Pledge of support to ensure that every single click you make is valued even more. This way, your project can resonate not with just a single high-five, but with a thunderous round of applause.
Try encouraging supporters to sign up for notifications and show their Pledge of support at the bottom of your Story.
Supporters who click the “Sign Up for Notifications” button will receive an SMS message immediately after the campaign launches. Therefore, recruiting as many subscribers as possible during the period before the campaign is set to launch can help boost your initial funding rate.
It’s also a good idea to offer a small perk to those who sign up for notifications and then participate in the main funding campaign.
In particular, we award points for the pledge of support—this provides a boost to the maker and generates social reach for supporters. (*Up to 50,000 points per transaction, valid for 60 days)
Use this free feature—which benefits both makers and supporters—to spread the word about your project!
A story can create opportunities and build a fan base.
A truly well-crafted story does more than just create “opportunities.” It can even make you click on the funding button as if spellbound, even if the rewards aren’t exactly what you needed.
- Even if I didn’t need the product, I might participate in funding to cheer the maker,
- The maker might follow you out of curiosity about their other projects,
- Or, if I relate to the maker’s story, I might even become a lifelong “fan.”
Don’t worry about writing a Story—just filling in the prompts is half the battle.
The funding launch is just around the corner!
wadiz is here to cheer you on.
