[Everything About the Pre-Order (Encore) Project #2] Storywriting Tips
This content is
<EVERYTHING About Pre-Order (Encore) Projects>
series.
Be sure to take this with you!
- One of the advantages of the Encore Project is that you can launch it by making only minor changes to the existing Story.
- By adding reviews and satisfaction ratings from the previous funding campaign and highlighting the improvements, almost all the preparation is complete.
- I’ll also share ways to promote your Encore Project not only through the Story but also via the title and News.
1. Start with the word “Encore.”

Use the word [Encore] right in the title to grab your supporters’ attention.
It’s no easy task to stand out among hundreds of projects, each armed with unique titles and featured images. In this situation, adding [Encore]—a short but powerful phrase—conveys that the project has successfully completed a funding round and returned, meaning it has already been validated by other supporters. and will entice even casual supporters to click on it at least once.
You can take it a step further by using numbers, such as [Nth Encore] or [0000% Encore].
This is a way to present the results of the previous funding campaign as an objective metric, sparking supporters’ curiosity: “What kind of project achieved such results?” In addition, you can apply various numbers, such as [0억 Encore] or [000 people requested an encore], so so take a look through your past funding campaigns and find meaningful numbers to use.
2. In the introduction, display reviews and satisfaction ratings from the previous funding campaign.

This is because positive reviews are, in and of themselves, content that showcases the product’s appeal.
We live in a world where people even look up reviews before ordering a cup of coffee or a sandwich for delivery. This means that when choosing products—not just food—the evaluations of those who’ve tried them first play a crucial role. The more positive reviews you have and the higher your satisfaction ratings are, the more firmly you can build supporters’ trust in your follow-up funding campaign. The key here is to make sure you blur out the usernames or profiles of the supporters you quote! No matter how grateful you are to them, you must be careful not to directly expose their personal information.
However, we do not recommend opening your Story with a review.
This is because an encore project attracts not only supporters who participated in the previous funding or have been following the maker’s projects, but also supporters who are encountering the Rewards for the first time. It might be a bit confusing for them to see positive reviews first without knowing the Rewards’ features. With all potential supporters in mind, start by briefly showcasing the Rewards’ main image and key features, followed by a series of positive reviews.Once they’ve gained abasicunderstanding, even first-time supporters will instantly grasp why these Rewards are so appealing.

If you’ve launched multiple encore projects, gather and showcase all the past examples you’ve completed.
This is a natural way to demonstrate that your brand has successfully launched and delivered so many projects and has earned the recognition of many supporters.
3. Please explain the upgrades in detail.

Has the product been upgraded based on feedback?
You’ve likely received valuable comments after your previous funding campaign ended—such as loose stitching, disappointment over limited options for color, flavor, or size, or non-waterproof fabric. Please explain in as much detail as possible in your Story how you’ve incorporated this vivid feedback from users who’ve actually used the Rewards.
Including comments from supporters who participated in the funding campaign will double the impact. It’s also important to provide a “visual” guide so that people can intuitively understand exactly what the comments were and how they led to specific improvements. Along with generating interest in the improved Rewards, this will also boost supporters’ appreciation for a maker who takes every piece of feedback seriously.

Even if a change wasn’t directly prompted by feedback, be sure to clearly communicate any updates.
This is because supporters can sense the maker’s genuine commitment to the product through their continuous research and efforts to create a better product—even without specific feedback. If there are multiple changes, try numbering them as you list them. This serves as a “summary” that organizes the improvements at a glance, while also acting as an excellent guide for readers as they go through the longer main text that follows.
4. Please tell us about any changes that have occurred since the funding campaign or any new opportunities that have arisen.

Did the wadiz funding lead to expansion into other distribution channels or overseas markets?
This is a great opportunity to emphasize that the Rewards have been recognized enough to attract interest from other sources, so supporters can engage in funding the project with confidence. If this is a final “encore” project before venturing into the wider world, you might add a message like, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—I hope you don’t miss it,” along with a thank-you to the supporters who helped make this opportunity possible. The maker's heartfelt words will not only convince supporters who were hesitating to participate in the funding but also help you gain fans who support your brand.
5. Please also prepare News to post on your previous project page.

This allows you to notify supporters who participated in previous funding campaigns that the encore project has launched.
Since writing a news update triggers app push notifications and email alerts to funding participants, this is a great way to reach supporters who may not have known about the encore project. Makers in categories with a high probability of receiving funding again, such as beauty or food, should definitely make active use of this feature.
6. Please be careful when using the phrase “final encore.”
This is because it might not actually be the last one.
While the word “final” can be effective in swaying supporters who are hesitant to provide funding for the project, it could become a stumbling block if you decide to run another encore project in the future. Since the Story remains even after funding ends, using the word “final” could make it difficult to launch an encore project later. Supporters who participated in the funding solely because they believed it was the “last” one will likely protest when they see another funding campaign open. Trust in you as a maker will also plummet. For this reason, please think carefully before using the phrase “final encore.”
