Hello. Could you please introduce yourself as a maker?
Hello! I’m Won-il Yoo from TENDOM. We operate “AdCampus,” a career review and information platform, and “BearYou,” a premium online career course. We’re building a service that helps people discover their ideal careers on their own and turn them into reality in a fun way.
For those who aren’t familiar with BearYou yet, could you please introduce the brand?
BearYou is a premium online class platform that provides online education covering a wide range of career needs—from job-specific training to employment and entrepreneurship, lifestyle, and finance. The courses are delivered in a core 10-minute lecture format and include 100% subtitles, conveniently edited segments, and the instructors’ secret notes.Our goal is to ensure that anyone can comfortably access the content without restrictions, regardless of their circumstances. At the same time,we’re helping instructors preserve their content as online classes,creating a new model of video publishing that fosters mutual growth.
You were running Tandem when you launched your new service, BearYou. What prompted you to plan this new service?
We’ve long operated content services and a college review service called “AdCampus” to address educational challenges faced by teenagers. Through AdCampus, we’ve taken the lead in providing in-depth information to help students navigate career and college admissions decisions. In doing so, we gained the insight that the actual educational environment lacks “the education we truly need.”
So, we formed a task force (TF) team as an internal project and worked together to determine what educational content users actually needed, which led to the creation of our classes . We then ran a funding campaign on wadiz to streamline our cost structure, which allowed us to gather user feedback and complete the initial validation phase. Through this process, the project grew beyond the TF team to become a new brand.
Given how much thought you put into launching this new service, the concept felt incredibly fresh. How did you come up with the idea of “10-minute daily online classes”?
We focused on the fact that adults’ attention spans rarely exceed 15 minutes, and that users could take classes during their commute. I also believed that creating classes that focused solely on the essentials would provide me, as a user, with the greatest satisfaction. By focusing on “the lectures I’d want to take” during the planning phase and repeatedly filming test videos, I was able to determine the optimal duration based on my experience with planning and production. Through testing various hypotheses, the concept of “10-minute daily online classes” took shape.
This should be helpful for busy office workers and college students alike. Following your previous funding campaign for “Essential Practical PowerPoint Skills,” you’re back with an online Photoshop class. For this funding campaign, over 800 people signed up for the notification that the class will be launching soon. The response was huge (!) even before the class was launched.
Thank you! (laughs) I was lucky. I was sure it would be helpful for busy office workers and college students, and it seems our expectations were spot on. To deliver the best possible funding, we paid attention to every detail—from the planning stage to the product page, advertising strategy, and production process—so I’m really glad things worked out. (laughs)
The rewards for this funding campaign have the advantage of being immediately applicable in real-world work. Is it okay for a complete beginner who knows nothing about Photoshop to take this course?
Yes, beginners are welcome. Since the curriculum focuses on practical application and thoroughly covers the basics of key tools right from the start, even beginners can follow along without any trouble.The biggest feature of our service is that it combines theory with practical application, so even beginners can achieve great learning outcomes.
I believe the biggest problem in education is not knowing where what you’ve learned actually applies. That’s why all of BearYou’s courses are carefully structured to emphasize exactly where and how each tool is used.
Until just a few years ago, I thought Photoshop was a tool used only by designers, but things have really changed these days. As mentioned in our funding story, you could even say it’s become a tool necessary for “survival” in certain professions (laughs). Will this course also be helpful for those who’ve picked up some basic Photoshop skills on the job but want to learn more systematically?
This Photoshop course can help you gain insights from others’ workflows and projects and create your own references. Even if you’re familiar with Photoshop’s basic functions, weaknesses may still surface during the creative process. By showing you how professionals actually execute these techniques in real-world scenarios, you’ll be able to strengthen your own creative expression. Andabove all, since this course teaches you how to apply effects appropriately, it will be a huge help. As I mentioned in the funding story, I believe you’ll be able to create thumbnails that truly double your views and product detail pages that drive purchases.

You’ve been running funding campaigns on wadiz since last July, and you’re already on your 12th funding campaign. What’s the reason behind your consistent presence on wadiz?
BearYou isn’t just a class marketplace—it’s a platform that fosters mutual growth with our Masters. To collaborate with Masters who have content but struggle to turn it into educational material, we need constant validation and tangible results throughout the class creation process—and wadiz was the platform that could fill that gap.
I believe wadiz is a platform that can identify potential and turn it into reality. I also think that, for our masters, BearYou serves a role similar to wadiz’s—as a channel for sharing their diverse knowledge with the world. Moving forward, we plan to continue introducing all our classes to the world first through wadiz. We appreciate your continued interest.
Since you’re introducing new classes on wadiz, you’ll likely be the first to see customer reactions through the funding campaign. Did that process lead to any changes in the direction of the BearYou service?
Through wadiz funding, we were able to identify a market that differed from what we had anticipated. Furthermore, since the results also differed significantly from our predictions, we were able to formulate a strategy for which categories and keywords we should prioritize moving forward.We also identified strategies to boost the successof our funding campaigns. Furthermore, while developing new classes, we leveraged wadiz funding to enhance promotional impact and refine our direction. Through these funding campaigns, we’re creating services that didn’t exist before, and as a result, we’re growing at a rate of 2x every month.

Although the funding campaign hasn’t ended yet, 781 supporters have already participated, and we’ve reached 4,817% of our funding goal. How do you feel right now?
Just like wadiz’s slogan, “Let’s Make It Happen Through Funding,” I’m thrilled to see our vision becoming a reality. ThisPhotoshop class is truly excellent, and even within our team, we’re confident we can achieve even greater funding results. We’ve already started planning follow-up classes. Everything feels so exciting.
From the perspective of someone launching a new service, what do you see as wadiz’s strengths?
The higher the uncertainty, the more variables there are that can lead to failure. I believe wadiz’s strength lies in its ability to reduce that uncertainty by increasing the probability of success over failure. During the preparation process, it’s essential to achieve small successes and make improvements based on those results—and since wadiz allows us to do all of that, it’s a tremendous help.
Successful wadiz funding campaigns often see makers continue to expand their distribution channels or return to wadiz for follow-up funding campaigns. What are BearYou’s plans following this funding campaign?
BearYou plans to introduce more classes through wadiz in the future.
