5) Frequently Asked Questions About Funding and Pre-orders
What is the difference between funding and pre-orders?
It depends on whether the product, service, or content has been released before.Ifithasn’t been releasedyet, it’s a funding campaign; if it has been released before, you should run it as a pre-order with special benefits. Encore projects also fall under pre-orders because they feature Rewards that have been released before.
What is the difference between a pre-order and the Store?
It comes down to whether the product is available for purchase on an ongoing basis.Whilea pre-orderis a “reservation-based purchase” service that offers special benefits for products, services, or content that have already been released, the Store is a service where funding or pre-order projects that meet the listing requirements are made available for “ongoing sales” on wadiz. Therefore, unlike pre-orders, purchases in the Store are processed and sold immediately upon purchase, and orders for which payment has been completed must be shipped promptly.
Is the settlement process for pre-orders different from that for funding?
There are similarities, but there are also differences. The settlement policy varies depending on which of the threepre-orderbenefits (Korea-exclusive, special bundle, or limited edition) you choose. For funding and pre-orders with “Domestic Exclusive” status, settlement is divided into preliminary and final settlement based on the success amount, while pre-orders with “Special Bundles” and “Limited Editions” are settled exclusively through 100% final settlement. You can find more details in the Pre-order Settlement Guide.
Can I run another pre-order project based on a project that was previously successful?
Yes, you can. However, you must include new special benefits that differ from the previous campaign. If your pre-order project meets the store listing requirements and supports ongoing sales and fast shipping, you may also consider listing it in the store.
Can I run a pre-order project and list my product in the Store at the same time?
Yes, you can.Even if the rewardsare the same, you can run it as a pre-order if there are special benefits, or list it in the Store if fast shipping is available. However, if you’re a maker running a project on wadiz for the first time, you can only join the Store after the project ends. This is because to join the Store, you must have run at least one funding or pre-order project.
How can I tell if my project is eligible for pre-order?
Review the type test and guidelines to confirm whether the Rewards you’re preparing include a “special benefit” exclusive to wadiz. If you submit a project as a pre-order but the benefit isn’t recognized as a special benefit, your project may be rejected.
