Why did Yoo Seong-woo, the “Father of E-books,” choose wadiz?
"I think it’s important to be selective and focus on what matters."
Before wadiz, we had launched a funding campaign on another platform. Back then, it was on a small scale, but now we want to do it right the first time. That’s why we’ve prepared a package exclusively for wadiz supporters and have been running our funding campaign on wadiz ever since.
And when it comes to distribution platforms, I believe in choosing wisely and focusing on what matters. For example, if we assume we’ll sell 100 copies, there’s a huge difference in terms of results between selling 10 copies on each platform and selling all 100 on a single platform.

I’d never earned an annual salary of 30 million won in my life, but as I ran the wadiz campaign and watched the funding amount rise by the second, I thought, “So this is how you make money.”
While selling on a regular online store is an ongoing process, wadiz crowdfunding is a short-term, concentrated funding method, which makes it very convenient for makers. That’s because you can complete the funding in one go and then take a break while preparing for the next project.

On other platforms, you can’t tell how well e-books are selling. Since they show the number of reviews instead of sales figures, it’s hard to gauge the impact—whether the book is selling well—from the perspective of both the seller and the consumer.
But on wadiz, you can immediately see how many supporters participated and what the sales volume is. Plus, the funding records aren’t deleted.
There’s no other platform where so many people who are willing to pay for others’ expertise gather. I believe wadiz is a platform where only those with strong purchasing power congregate.

“If I had to pick the best feature of wadiz funding, I’d say it’s the ‘launching soon’ service.”
The “Launching Soon” period runs for two weeks (about 15 days) before the funding campaign launches. During this time, people interested in the funding campaign can click “Sign Up for Launch Alerts.”
This allows you to gauge how many people are interested in the project.
Also, when the funding officially launches, a push notification is sent all at once to everyone who signed up for the funding alert, which is a major advantage for achieving strong results on the first day. However, the key here is that you must secure strong results on the first day.
That’s because you can only build on the first day’s results to achieve even more the next day. If you don’t reach 100%—or even 10%—as soon as the campaign launches, you won’t be able to move forward from there.
Many makers don’t use this feature, but it’s a great tip, so I recommend giving it a try.
"The higher the funding goal, the more thoroughly you need to design your Rewards."
First, you need to set your own funding goal. And the higher that goal is, the more carefully you need to design your Rewards.
Some people offer only one type of Reward, but it’s better to provide other options as well. Let me use my own Rewards as an example.
I offered one option to purchase the book and another option to purchase the book along with the challenge. If someone who joins my funding project just wants the book, they can simply purchase the book.
Conversely, those who want to help create the book alongside “Meteor Shower” would purchase the challenge as well. The more supporters who purchase the challenge, the higher the funding amount can become.

Wadiz seems to be a platform where many enterprising and passionate supporters gather. Thanks to that, I was able to achieve better results even with just one funding campaign.
Also, when running an e-book side business, there’s a limit to how much revenue you can generate. However, the wadiz funding helped me break through that barrier.
So far, I’ve shared tips on how to write e-books, but now I’d like to share how to boost sales through wadiz funding.
