Interview Highlights!
Jeong Dae-kwon, CEO of the hair care brand Lutonics, previously worked as a brand manager at a major corporation.
He says he’s always had a lot of curiosity and concerns about brands, even back when he was a corporate employee. He’s simply always been very interested in brands.
He says this experience gave him the strength to lead the Lutonics brand more effectively, and that his time as a corporate employee helped minimize the risks of failure when he started his own business.
He says the CEO’s mindset was crucial in forming his resolve to start the business and in gaining confidence in the Rewards.
For the first three years after founding the company, he personally handled product planning and development. This was because he believed that only by being fully confident in the Rewards could he confidently present them to supporters.
The hair pack developed in this way reportedly received the most love, having raised 700 million won in funding over seven months.
The Lutonics Hair Pack is based on technology utilizing hydrolyzed protein, and the fragrance alone required about eight months of dedicated research and development as part of the Rewards program.
Now, the entire staff reportedly works together on product development. From quality control to even the smallest marketing details, each employee approaches their tasks with a professional mindset and wholehearted dedication.
CEO Jeong Dae-kwon respects this dedication.
That’s why he’s convinced that Lutonics employees possess far superior work skills than employees at any other large corporation.
