"Shin Jeong-hye," the maker behind the heartwarming funding campaign that saved a puppy that had lost its limbs after falling into a canal
A puppy that lost its limbs after falling into a canal was rescued
Heartwarming Funding Campaign

Please take a look at this incredibly cute puppy’s paws.
The puppy in the photo was living as a stray when he fell into a canal.
Although it was dramatically rescued, it ultimately lost its limbs. By then, its paw pads had already been torn off and its limbs had become gangrenous.
I’ll tell you right now the touching story of what happened to this adorable puppy, how it managed to survive,
and what kind of life he’s living now—I’ll share this touching story with you right now.
A 3-month-old puppy that fell into a canal—this is the very canal

This is the canal where the 3-month-old puppy fell in. A larger puppy might have been able to climb out, but
but since this little one was only 3 months old, he simply didn’t have the strength to climb the high wall.
The puppy was discovered by a neighborhood resident who was feeding the dogs. They say the puppy’s paw pads were torn when it was found.
Whenever it had even a little energy left, it would hide somewhere, and it wasn’t until it no longer had the strength to move that it was spotted by a person.
They say the reason they rescued the puppy—who, at first glance, seemed to have little hope of survival—was simply because “they saw it.”

After hurriedly giving the puppy some water, they called the nearby “Donghaeng Animal Hospital,” explained the puppy’s condition, and took it there.
To be honest, they said they took him there expecting the vet to issue a death certificate.
Dr. Kim Jun-tae, the attending veterinarian at the clinic, said that Su-ro’s initial condition was beyond description.
The tips of its legs were already showing signs of necrosis, and a health check revealed that it was also anemic.
They say the clinic smelled so bad it was like rotten meat—that says it all.
However, they said, “It’s better than dying, right? Let’s try to save him!” and made sure he could continue living.
Although leg amputation surgery was unavoidable.
And so, the wadiz funding campaign began.

Shin Jeong-hye, the maker who launched the “Straw of Hope” funding campaign, said she didn’t know much about wadiz at first. But when she told a friend about Su-ro’s story, the friend recommended she try funding.
So, with the mindset of grasping at a straw, she launched the wadiz funding campaign. She said launching the funding campaign wasn’t difficult.
According to Shin Jeong-hye, the maker was able to set it up easily using “Daum’s next-generation magic.” Rather than writing a grand Story, she just wrote a heartfelt rant.
But then, a tricky situation arose.

That was setting the Rewards amount at 1,000 won. But the funding goal was 7,777,777 won.
Due to wadiz’s policy that the funding amount cannot be changed once a project is launched, she had already given up on the project’s success early on.
306 Heroes Who Stepped Forward in the Face of Adversity

Then, wadiz came across this story.
Many people were moved by Su-ro’s story, and Wadiz featured it on the main banner in the hope that the funding campaign would succeed.
Of course, thanks to the maker consistently posting updates about Su-ro in the “News” section, the funding amount had been rising little by little even before that,
but it reportedly saw another significant surge when the main banner was featured.

In response, maker Shin Jeong-hye shared these words:
“While every single hero is important, it feels like a group of ordinary people came together to become heroes.”
With a total of 306 “heroes” participating, the campaign was able to reach 100% of its funding goal.
Fortunately, Suro has recovered his health, and Maker Shin Jeong-hye sent a newsletter about Suro to all 306 heroes.
And finally, Su-ro was adopted by the maker’s friend—the very person who had suggested the wadiz funding campaign.
Now, Su-ro has been given the name “Chopa” and is living a new life as a dog. In a phone interview, the adopter said:
“At first, I supported him directly and indirectly out of sympathy. But the more I watched him, the more attached I became.
When I heard that no one was willing to adopt a dog with a disability, I volunteered to adopt him.
Everyone tells me I made a difficult decision, but actually, ever since Chopa came to our home, the atmosphere here has improved.
Playing with Chopa and making eye contact with him is actually very therapeutic.”
Shin Jeong-hye, the maker who ran the “Straw on the Water” funding campaign, said she met many wonderful people through her wadiz funding campaign.
She said she gained hope for the world and truly realized the immense power of social media when it’s used for good.
With that in mind, she concluded the interview by saying there should be more funding campaigns like this that can change the world.

A story that’s rough around the edges but brimming with sincerity, coupled with diligent communication sharing updates on “Suro” whenever possible
and the supporters who recognized this—all of these factors allowed the “Suro Straw” funding campaign to conclude successfully.
Afterward, the maker launcheda funding campaign to spay and neuter the stray dogsat the spot where Chopa fell into the canal,
which was also successfully completed.
Maker, you can also launch a funding campaign on wadiz.
