[Funding Recipe] Wadiz Instead of a Dermatologist? How We Kept 'Beauty' Supporters Coming Back!

The 4th week of September 2025
Beauty
The global popularity of K-Beauty, centered on small and medium-sized indie brands, is growing steadily.
In the first half of 2025, South Korea’s cosmetics exports reached a record high of approximately 7.6 trillion won.
In particular, functional skincare products and beauty devices are emerging as core product categories for K-Beauty.
This trend is also evident in the wadiz Beauty category. Recently, several beauty device projects have garnered an enthusiastic response from international supporters through wadiz’s global service.
Wadiz is serving as a launchpad for small beauty brands looking to make their mark on the global stage.
Discover the success strategies for wadiz’s Beauty category through the “recipes” of three projects that achieved funding in the hundreds of millions this week!
🍳Success Recipe #1: High-Engagement, High-Priced Products → Building Momentum Before Launching Soon and in the Early Stages of Funding
- Project Name: Olizio Comes to Your Home | Authentic Waterdrop Ultrasound & RF Lifting in the 400,000 won range
- Participating Supporters: 1,828
- Funds Raised: 368,073,000 won
- Funding Rate: 65,727%
*Figures as of 11:00 AM on September 25, 2025, calculated before the project ended
🧂Success Ingredients
- This is a project related to #beautydevices, a market that has been growing rapidly recently. The Rewards incorporate the features of the Olizio equipment actually used in hospitals into a home care device.
- We emphasized #price competitiveness relative to the technology by highlighting the fact that we’ve incorporated the technology behind the high-end Olizio treatment into a product priced in the 400,000 won range.
📝Key Recipe
- Given the high-involvement, high-price nature of beauty devices, we focused on attracting early supporters through aggressive exposure—such as dedicated push ads for the campaign launching soon—during the pre-launch phase and the early stages of the main funding round.
- During the phase of launching soon, we took aggressive initial conversion actions by setting up a total of five events, including uploading over 15 News updates and holding a launch event with a drawing for 250 winners.
➡️The higher the engagement and price of a Reward, the more crucial it is to significantly boost supporter acquisition early in the funding campaign,
and it’s crucial to leverage the project’s momentum as a marketing asset to sustain that momentum through the later stages.

🍳Success Recipe #2: Encore Funding—Boosting Trust by Incorporating Supporter Feedback
- Project Name: [480 Million!] Baby Bottom Puff: Makes Any Foundation Stick Perfectly, Fits Tightly, and Eliminates Creasing
- Supporters: 4,186
- Amount Raised: 268,949,050 won
- Funding Rate: 53,789%
*This project successfully concluded on September 22, 2025
🧂Ingredients for Success
- This is a #Pre-Order Encore project introducing a revamped version of a popular Reward that has raised a cumulative total of 480 million won exclusively on wadiz.
- We coined the product nickname “Baby Bottom Puff” to highlight this Rewards’ unique selling point, using it as a catchy hook in the Story and advertising materials.
📝Key Recipe
- In response to negative reviews from the previous funding campaign, we took a head-on approach by addressing them in our Story using objective data, which actually increased trust in both the maker and the Rewards.
- By unveiling a revamped product that incorporated supporter comments and offering Rewards packages that allowed supporters to efficiently test it out, we successfully encouraged previous supporters to participate again.
➡️For the encore funding campaign, we incorporated existing supporter reviews and data into the new project,
It’s crucial to clearly convey “how things have changed” through your Story.
🍳Success Recipe #3: Price Competitiveness of Mid-Range Rewards—Utilizing “Upselling”
- Project Name: Closing Soon! [SkinBooth* 72 Shots = 2 Million Won] All packed into this one can!
- Number of participating supporters: 2,276
- Funds Raised: 300,167,420 won
- Funding Rate: 60,334%
*This project successfully concluded on September 20, 2025
🧂Ingredients for Success
- We leveraged the keyword “Skin Booth*”—a leading dermatological treatment—as part of the Rewards for #high-concentration #functional skincare, which is a recent trend in the beauty category.
- We emphasized throughout the Story, using #numbers to highlight exactly how much of the concentrated solution containing key functional ingredients was included in each Reward.
📝Key Recipe
- Since these were mid-range Rewards—with prices ranging from 50,000 won for the basic option to 300,000 won for the premium option—we positioned “price competitiveness relative to functionality” as our key selling point, highlighting that supporters could enjoy the effects of a “2 million won” Skin Booth* treatment at a fraction of the cost.
- By using dermatological procedures as a comparison group, we employed a strategy that made the product appear to offer high value for money, thereby driving supporters to make a purchase.
➡️For mid-range Rewards—which fall into an ambiguous price bracket—it’s important to use products that are superior to ours as comparators
A strategy that emphasizes price competitiveness compared to products with the same specifications is necessary.
