Storywriting Guide
What You’ll Learn from This Article
- Learn what content is essential for your funding page.
- Even if you’re a first-timer, you can write a basic Story.
- You can quickly create a draft using WAi.
01. What is a “Story”?
Simply put, it’s the product detail page on wadiz.
In other words, it’s the content that introduces the product you’re selling. However, due to the nature of crowdfunding, it goes beyond a simple list of specifications—it must deeply convey the background behind the project’s creation and the creator’s values. This can also help increase the funding goal.
Why is this important?
wadiz supporters visit the site out of curiosity, not necessity
Supporters don’t visit wadiz because they need a specific product right now. They visit the site to check out “interesting projects.”
Even if they don’t need the product right away, supporters may engage in funding if they find the rewards appealing or sense the maker’s authenticity.
In creative projects, supporters evaluate five key factors in particular.
- Does the reason behind starting the project resonate with readers?
- Does the story feel authentic?
- Have you clearly communicated the value and appeal of the Rewards?
- Can you trust the maker?
- Have you clearly specified how the funding will be used?
02. 5 Steps to Writing a Story

03. Essential Elements of Story Writing
1) Project Title
The title is like the first impression of your project. It’s the most powerful tool for demonstrating your project’s credibility and driving search visibility and clicks, so it’s important to craft it well.
If you’re unsure how to start, try using the three templates below.
Templates
- [For whom / By whom] + [What kind of Rewards / project]
- Example:A failed singer’sfirst album production project!
2. [Core Value/Benefit] + [Rewards Type]
- Example: Make emojis and merchandise with ease! The Ultimate 3D Modeling Mastery Set—All Done on an iPad
3. [One-Line Concept] + [Rewards Name]
- Example: Plan a charming spring outing all at once! Carendish Oil Pastel Drawing Kit
Check your title after writing it
- Can you tell what type of project it is or what the Rewards are just by looking at the title?
- Isn’t it too long? (Recommended length: 15–25 characters)
2) Background and Purpose of the Project
Please explain the background behind your project and what inspired you to create the Rewards—this will help spark your supporters’ interest. It doesn’t have to be anything grand.
The more honest and heartfelt your story is, the more it will resonate with your supporters.
- Writing Tip: The first sentence is especially important in a wadiz story. You need to capture supporters’ attention early on so they’ll read the story to the end and participate in the project.
Try including a “hook” in the first line that makes them stop scrolling.
Example: “I’m a failed singer! Want to make a song with me?”

3) Projectand Rewards Details
Now it’s time to start explaining the Rewards in detail. The most important thing is to convey the features of the Rewards in a clear and easy-to-read way.
If you include the following four points in your story, it will be easier for supporters to understand.
|
Items
|
Key Questions | Writing Tips | Example |
| 1. Concept/Theme | What is this creative work? | Supporters should be able to immediately understand what the Rewards are when they first see the Story. | "A practical oil pastel drawing kit that feels like a collectible you’ll want to carry with you" |
| 2. Target Audience | Who would benefit from receiving this? | Rather than saying “everyone needs this,” the more specifically you pinpoint a certain type of person, the more resonance you’ll create. | "People who want to draw but don’t know where to start, or those who want to draw comfortably outdoors" |
| 3. Core Value and Benefits | What kind of change will this bring about? | Focus on the experiences and changes the supporter will gain, rather than just the specs. | "A drawing kit you can just unfold anytime, anywhere, allowing you to focus entirely on your artwork" |
| 4. Format and Content | Is it a physical item or digital? What’s included? | Please specify the number of pages, tracks, or other details, and how it will be delivered. The less tangible the Rewards, the more important it is to describe them in concrete terms. | "Hardcover sketchbook (155×217mm, 50 sheets) + 21-color oil pastels + tin case + 10 types of postcards" |
- Writing Tip: If there are two or more options or early bird benefits, be sure to highlight the details and pricing within the Story itself.
Organizing the information so supporters can see at a glance which option to choose helps drive conversions. - Example: <Human Anatomy Reference Guide>: A video series covering everything from anatomy to movement

- Writing Tip: For class projects with various options, it’s a good idea to provide a recommendation guide like the one below.
- Example:[iPad Drawing] 111 Real Watercolor & Oil Painting Brushes + 55 Lessons!

4) Plan for Using the Funding
Unless you’re running this funding campaign solely to generate profit, please clarify how you plan to use the funds raised. The more specific you are, the more trust you’ll build with your supporters.
This helps supporters feel that participating in your funding campaign isn’t just a simple purchase, but a way to help shape the creator’s next project.

- Detailed Spending Plan
- When
- Where
- What and How
- Example: A Failed Singer’s First Album Production Project!

5) About the Maker
Now that you’ve explained the project and the Rewards, it’s time to introduce yourself—the maker behind them.
Please share your story as the maker: who you are, why you’re undertaking this project, and the genuine struggles and journey that led you to wadiz.
You don’t have to write it in a stiff, resume-like style. A single candid photo taken in your studio and a paragraph sharing the personal story behind why you started this project will build trust far more effectively than a flashy introduction.
- Example:[The Wailing, Exhumation] The Ultimate Guide to K-Eastern Philosophy: 'The Korean Occult Handbook'

04. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. How should I create and arrange the Rewards images?
A. It’s best to use photos that clearly show what the Rewards are at a glance, and avoid including text within the images.
Also, to ensure better readability on mobile devices, improve search visibility, and ensure the global translation feature works properly, please avoid creating Stories as “image-only” posts (where all text is embedded within the image).
Use the Maker Studio editor to enter your description directly as text, and upload the Rewards photo as a separate image file!
Try using the checklistbelow!
- Are the rewards photos based on the actual items? Can you clearly see what the rewards are?
- Is the description written in the text area, not inside the image?
- Have you summarized the important information (price, contents, shipping, and precautions) once more in text form?
- Is the text left-aligned, and has it not been placed within a single image?
- Have you avoided embedding Korean text inside GIFs or video-based images?
Q. Are there any image size limits for projects?
A. Please insert images for project stories and stories that will be launched soon according to the criteria below.
- We recommend images with a width of 1024px or less. If you insert an image larger than this, it may appear distorted on mobile devices.
- You can upload JPG, JPEG, PNG, or GIF images that are 10MB or smaller.
Q. Can I use AI to draft a story?
A. By using wadiz’s AI partner, WAi, you can quickly create a Story draft simply by entering your product’s features. Additionally, the AI Story summary featureautomatically provides a summary so that supporters can quickly grasp the key points.
Q. Are there any specific expressions I should be careful to avoid when writing my Story?
A. Creative projects are also subject to advertising review standards, so you must be careful with your wording. In particular, you must never use false, exaggerated, or guarantee-based expressions. Phrases that definitively state results—such as “guaranteed success” or “100% satisfaction”—or those that guarantee or imply the recovery of principal or future profits in content related to investment or returns can lead to rejection during review or project suspension.
Additionally, you cannot use any content that infringes on copyrights or portrait rights. Unauthorized use of other creators’ works, scenes from TV dramas or movies, images of celebrities or characters, or music—as well as quoting broadcast screenshots, song lyrics, or social media reviews without permission—will result in sanctions, so be sure to review the Story Ad Review Guidelinesbefore launching your campaign!
