03. Settlement Process by Type

1) Funding & Domestic Exclusive Pre-orders

① Settlement Amount

The settlement rate varies based on the total amount paid (10 million won).

If the final payment amount is less than 10 million won
- An advance payment equal to 80% of the total payment amount, minus expenses, will be paid first
- Once both the Rewards shipment and refund processes are complete, the remaining 20% will be paid as the final settlement.
If the total amount paid is 10 million won or more
- 60% of the total amount paid, minus expenses, will be paid first as an interim settlement.
- Once all Rewards shipments and refund procedures are complete, the remaining 40% will be paid as the final settlement.

② Settlement Schedule

Project End ~ Interim Payment
- Within 5 business days after the project ends, we will email you a preliminary settlement statement.
- We will disburse the settlement funds on the next payment day (Mon, Wed, Fri) following the date the preliminary settlement statement is sent.
Sending Rewards ~ Final Settlement Payment
- We will send you a final settlement notification email within 1 business day after delivery is complete and the refund period has ended.
- Final settlement will take place 25 days after the delivery completion date.
- If Maker Studio has not processed the shipment by the maximum shipping delay date for the Rewards, the supporter may request a refund.

③ (Exception) If Rewards are classes, consulting services, service passes, or lodging vouchers

2) Special Bundles & Limited Edition pre-orders

This type uses a post-settlement method. Final settlement is processed after all products or services have been shipped, with any refunds deducted. However, even for special bundles and limited-edition pre-orders, you can receive 60% of the settlement amount in advance by applying for the “Advance Settlement Service.” If needed, please fill out the Advance Settlement Service application form.

Payments are made every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays.
The settlement statement will be sent to the maker's email.
After reviewing the settlement statement, you may file a “dispute” within 2 business days if you find any discrepancies in the settlement details. (*Disputes can only be filed for the final settlement.)
If there are no discrepancies in the settlement statement and the maker has not filed an objection, the final settlement amount will be paid within 5 business days.
Once the settlement amount is paid, a notification message will be sent to the project creator’s mobile phone.

③ Early Settlement Eligibility Requirements and Payment Procedure

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility: “Special Benefits” and “Limited Edition” pre-order projects
Application Period: From the date the funding will be launched soon (or the date of the main funding launch if the launching soon date does not take place) until 10 days after the project end date
Advance Settlement Amount:60% of thetotalamountpaid* 60% – all related costs, including fees and deferred advertising costs
Service Fee:3% ofthe total amount paid(excluding VAT)

Payment Procedure

1. A review is conducted to determine eligibility for the service: Detailedreview criteria can be found in the “Terms of Service for Advance Settlement.”

2. Notification of results after review: If your application isapproved, we’ll issue an advance payment statement within 10 business days of the project completion date. If your application is rejected, we’ll notify you via email within 10 days of the project completion date.

3. Advance payment disbursement on the settlement date: You will receive the advance payment on the company’s next settlement date (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday) following the issuance of the advance payment statement.

Q. Why is the settlement split into two payments? Can’t I receive it all at once?

A. This is to separate the funds for producing Rewards from the reserve for refunds and potential issues. The advance payment is intended to provide the maker with the funds needed to produce and ship Rewards before the Rewards are actually delivered. For the final settlement, we set aside a certain amount as a security deposit to account for potential variables such as shipping delays, quality issues, or refund requests. We then pay out the remaining balance after reflecting any actual refunds or adjustments.

Q. If there’s a refund, will the settlement amount I receive be reduced?

A. Yes, your settlement amount will be reduced by the amount of the refund. Since refunds are deducted from the final settlement, you’ll receive the advance settlement in full, and the refund amount will be excluded from the final settlement. To minimize refunds, you should write accurate and detailed product descriptions, thoroughly check the condition of the products before shipping, and clearly communicate the shipping schedule to your supporters.

Q. Are fees applied to donations for donation-based projects?

A. Yes. A platform fee applies to all funds raised through the wadiz platform. Even for donation-based projects, since the funds are raised from supporters via the wadiz platform, the platform fee is charged in the same way as for standard funding projects.

Q. When and how much should I recognize as revenue?

A. Once all shipments and refunds are complete, you should recognize “Total completed payments – Refunded completed payments” as revenue. To summarize:
