03· This Week's Main Issue — Maker Intellectual Property Rights Infringement Cases
We share intellectual property rights infringement cases related to reward function and design plagiarism as well as unauthorized image use.
1. Design and Function-related Intellectual Property Rights Infringement Report
Report Content
An intellectual property rights infringement report was submitted regarding a reward, as high similarity was confirmed with an existing Wadiz public product in terms of design, function, and overall aspects.
Findings
Upon verification, some similarities in design and function were confirmed, but the handheld steam iron structure, suction method, and wrinkle removal expressions were identified as elements commonly used in the industry. Additionally, it was difficult to determine specific design rights or intellectual property rights infringement based solely on the submitted report content and materials, so we guided the submitter that additional verification through a specialized institution is necessary.

2. Unauthorized Image Use Report
Report Content
An intellectual property rights infringement report was submitted as user review images within the project story appeared to be used as-is without separate modification.
Findings
Upon verification, it was confirmed that during the internal design work process, an image from another brand was used as a reference, but was uploaded without being replaced with a self-produced image. Subsequently, the problematic image was immediately removed from the details page, and it was confirmed that the original brand was separately contacted to share the facts and offer an apology.

Operational Improvement Direction
Based on the above cases, Wadiz will continue to strengthen inspections of images and expressions used in project stories to prevent consumer confusion by preventing unauthorized use of third-party images, content, and designs.
